HACA has 18 public and subsidized housing communities with 1,838 apartments throughout the city of Austin. Our goal is to help each resident maximize their potential and if possible, move back into the private rental market without assistance.

Project-Based Rental Assistance

Voucher Programs

Through the Housing Choice Voucher program families have the choice and responsibility to select their own housing location within HACA’s jurisdiction and with a landlord that accepts Section 8 vouchers.

WHAT IS RAD?

RAD is a voluntary program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). It provides agencies like HACA with access to stable funding they can use to preserve and upgrade their properties and improve their residents’ lives.

Our city’s low-income seniors and persons with disabilities deserve an accessible and supportive environment to age in place and thrive. HACA dedicates four of its 18 developments to housing seniors and individuals with disabilities, and provides wrap-around programming to support residents’ unique needs.

Jobs Plus

Jobs Plus ATX is a new HUD program designed to completely immerse public housing residents at Booker T. Washington Terraces and Chalmers Courts with the knowledge and tools needed to work their way toward long-term employment and self-sufficiency.
