National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE) Compliance Date October 1, 2025

For the past several years The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has been working to update the inspection protocols that they use to inspect all properties that receive federal assistance. HUD issued an implementation date of October 01, 2025 for housing authorities to transition to the new NSPIRE protocol. All inspections conducted by the housing authority inspectors after October 01, 2025 will be performed using the new NSPIRE protocol.
