AAA will hold a symposium meeting on housing assistance programs including the Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV) program. The aim of this discussion is to dispel the myths and misconceptions surrounding HCVs and how housing assistance programs operate and provide a "safe place" to have your questions answered.
The HCV program (originally known as "Section 8 vouchers") is a public-private partnership that has proved to be one of the most effective means of addressing our nation's affordable housing needs. Properties that accept HCVs, a program effectively and efficiently managed by the Housing Authority of the Austin, use their own lease, receive guaranteed rent payments, obtain free advertising of available units and maintain the regular landlord and tenant relationships.
This symposium is a great opportunity to explore new opportunities and learn from other AAA members about how the HCV program can be seamlessly folded into your current onsite practices.
