HACA's Assisted Housing Department recently earned a score of 100 percent during its annual Section Eight Management Assessment Program (SEMAP) audit. In addition to achieving a score of 100, zero errors were identified for Indicator #3: Determination of Adjusted Income.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's SEMAP evaluation measures the performance of the public housing agencies that administer the housing choice voucher program in 14 key areas, including accurate verification of family income, proper selection of applicants from the housing choice voucher waiting list, and sound determination of reasonable rent for each unit leased.
Public housing agencies with SEMAP scores of at least 90 percent are rated high performers. HACA's Assisted Housing Department has received a high performer SEMAP score for 18 consecutive years.
